Old Town Apartments in Krakow
What the label really means, what a flat inside the walls costs, and how Old Town Residence compares.
Old town apartments in Krakow usually mean one of two things: a flat physically inside the Old Town walls, or a flat with an Old Town view a short walk away. Our Old Town Residence is the second kind — 38 sqm with a view of a historic Old Town townhouse, a 10-minute walk to the Main Square, without the price premium or street noise that comes with being right on it.
Table of contents
1. Two meanings of “Old Town apartment”
An apartment physically inside the Old Town walls runs 280-400 zł a night off season and 450-700 zł in season and often means street noise until 1:00-2:00 AM on weekends — that’s the price of the address, not the standard of the flat. The second, more useful meaning for most travelers looking for good value is an apartment with an Old Town view and an easy walk in, just outside the walls — cheaper and quieter.
Our Old Town Residence falls into that second category — hence the name, not a false promise of a location we don’t have.
2. Old Town Residence — what you get
- 38 sqm, 1st floor, separate bedroom and living room with a sofa bed, sleeps up to 4
- View of a historic Old Town townhouse from the windows
- Full kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, Smart TV, 600 Mb/s WiFi
- 24/7 self check-in — the door code works at any hour
To be upfront: Old Town Residence doesn’t have air conditioning — of our four apartments, only Cozy Apartment does. Summer nights rely on ventilation and open windows.
3. Location — what’s actually close
The address is Aleksandra Lubomirskiego 11, 31-509 Kraków — a 2-minute walk to the Main Station, 2-3 minutes to Galeria Krakowska, and a 10-minute walk through the Planty park to the Main Square. It’s not „Old Town” in the geographic sense, but it’s the real walking distance to most Old Town sights without needing public transport.
4. Old town apartments in Krakow — price vs. the Main Square
| Location | Low season (Nov-Mar) | High season (Apr-Oct) |
|---|---|---|
| Apartment inside the Old Town walls | 280-400 zł | 450-700 zł |
| Old Town Residence (Grzegórzki) | 220-280 zł | 320-450 zł |
That is a 60-120 zł difference per night off season and 130-250 zł in season, for the same real walking distance to the sights, minus the street noise. See our full apartments overview for the other three options.
5. Who this apartment works best for
Old Town Residence suits first-time visitors to Krakow (see the official Krakow tourist portal for what’s worth seeing) who want a view and a walkable route into the Old Town without paying a premium for the address itself. If absolute quiet is your priority, our Quiet & Stylish Apartment has windows facing a courtyard instead.
